Safe Night offers a wide variety of services that help municipalities manage complex issues they are facing. Specifically, we identify issues through data analysis and develop a blueprint for forming a multi-agency response that prioritizes individual relationships and problem-solving with community stakeholders.
Safe Night works with community non-profit organizations, business improvement districts, private businesses, and municipal agencies to bring strategies that improve efficiency and communication.
“RTM is risk assessment for places. It’s a data analysis technique. And it’s a diagnostic tool. When used for crime analysis, RTM identifies environmental conditions that contribute to crime problems. Different crime incident locations can have common underlying causes. That is, events may be unrelated, but attractive settings for them may share similar qualities. RTM sheds light on why crimes pattern the way they do. It puts the focus on places, not people."

A Safe Night Out is our multi-component program to safely manage nightlife and entertainment areas. We create a restaurant and bar accreditation model to improve operational standards, which improves compliance and reduces liability. We also teach municipal agencies to adopt multi-disciplinary and relationship-based approaches to achieving long-term outcomes that enhance safety and vibrancy.
Safe Night provides technical assistance to State Highway Safety Offices (SHSO), State Departments of Transportation (DOT), and state and local law enforcement agencies to incorporate meaningful engagement to build trust and legitimacy with community stakeholders. Introducing innovation from other fields beyond law enforcement can shed light on new strategies that develop genuine relationships with the community and improve safety outcomes.
Managing the safety of downtown areas requires strategic management planning and a commitment from all stakeholders. Municipal agencies, business improvement districts, economic development offices, business owners, community groups, and community stakeholders are capable of problem-solving together when complex problems are accurately identified through data.
Our Proactive Alliance relationship-based approach is the foundation for establishing trust and relationships between municipal agencies and community stakeholders. Using methods adapted from evidence-based psychological counseling therapy concepts, municipal staff learn how to facilitate cooperation rather than demanding it.
Safe Night provides training and technical assistance to the US DOJ Bureau of Justice Assistance Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation (BCJI) Grant. The BCJI grant program supports data-driven, place-based, and community-oriented strategies to reduce crime, build partnership, and enhance trust.
